Couples, this one is for you!
I’m willing to bet that many of you are in a committed relationship or marriage. Regardless of whether you root for the same team as your partner or not, sports are likely a hot topic. Sports bring people together, making them a shared passion for many couples. With this being said, it can be hard to know how to become involved with your favorite teams alongside your partner. Although I am not married myself, I do spend a lot of time in the social media and sports media world. I have been following several influencer couples that I think do a great job of sharing their love of sports with their partner.
I thought for this blog, it would be fun to share several of these creators and dive into their content. Even if you are like me and not in a committed relationship or marriage, I find these accounts very entertaining to follow. Let’s jump in!
Shawn Johnson & Andrew East
Aka one of the strongest “power couples” in the social media space, Shawn Johnson and Andrew East are both former professional athletes who have transitioned to become authors, speakers, and content creators. Shawn is a former Olympic gymnast who won four medals at the age of 16 at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Andrew, on the other hand, was a long snapper whose professional career spanned five years in the NFL. While their athletic careers are both incredibly impressive, they also create inspiring and entertaining content. They share much of their family life as parents (I can only imagine how athletic their kids will be!), but they also share much content centered around sports. They are a Nashville-based couple and avid Vanderbilt fans, as that was where Andrew attended college and played football.
Shawn and Andrew share videos when they attend Vanderbilt games, and many other sporting events across the globe. Their content is very light and engaging. Since both are former athletes, they often hop on any athletic trend or challenge circulating on the internet. If you love couples content with a side of athletic banter, then give them a follow!
Shelby & Dylan Reese
“Shelbyyy”… yes, that is exactly the Shelby and Dylan that I am referring to. Shelby Reese and her mustard-loving comedian of a husband, Dylan Reese, have been posting influencer couples content online for years. While Dylan is infamous for his love of mustard, his goofy personality and the couple’s passions extend beyond their favorite condiments. Both Shelby and Dylan are avid baseball fans who travel to stadiums around the country and document their adventures in a social media video series. They are an Alabama-based couple, but they spend much of their time around the South collaborating with other Southern content creators.
Anyone looking for inspiration centered around Southern sports events would enjoy following this account. However, it is also a great fit for anyone looking for entertainment or a laugh. Dylan Reese is arguably one of the funniest creators, especially in the Southern influencer space, and he and Shelby complement each other’s personalities perfectly. It is safe to say after spending a few minutes exploring their accounts, you will be left with the desire to attend a baseball game, and a strong craving for mustard!
Campbell Puckett and Jett Puckett
Arguably the most “quintessential” couple I could discuss, Pookie and Jett are an influencer husband-and-wife duo. They currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, and post daily life and couples content. “Pookie” is the affectionate nickname that Jett uses when referring to Campbell in their various posts and videos. This nickname definitely resonates with their high-class lifestyle. as Campbell and Jett are very much your typical old-money, SEC-loving couple.
While their house is divided between loyalty to the Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss, fans of any Southern school can relate to their content, as they often post about attending SEC/sports-wide events such as the recent ESPY Awards. ESPN even invited the couple to showcase their game-day fashion as guest pickers on SEC Nation, where each of their favorite teams was playing. If you are looking for feel-good, classic influencer couples content with a side of outfit and sports inspiration, give these two a follow!
Tabitha Swatosh and Carson Hocevar
Tabitha has been a content creator in the public eye for many years. She was notably a member of the social media phenomenon “The Hype House.” Here, she lived and collaborated with other content creators. Over the past year, she has begun to shift much of her content to focus on fashion and racing. After splitting from her long-term boyfriend earlier in the year, she began posting about a mysterious “NASCAR man”. Around this time, she began attending races and sharing her race day fashion. Tabitha is a Nashville local. Many of her vlogs focused on shopping for race day outfits are filmed in locations such as the Green Hills Mall. Personally, I am very excited to see what content and outfits Tabitha and NASCAR man will be sharing this summer. NASCAR returns to Nashville for the Cracker Barrel 400 weekend in June, calling for spectacular content and outfits.
Recently, fans learned that ‘NASCAR man’ was none other than racing sensation Carson Hocevar. Tabitha has begun to post him on her page frequently. She can also be spotted by his side on pit road at most of his NASCAR races. Essentially, they are the “it couple” in racing right now. They are great influencer couples to follow if you are interested in fashion, racing, and flirty fun!
